The Student Management System support service is a part of Student Data Services (SDS) which is part of Eastern Suffolk BOCES Regional Information Center. Student Management System (SMS) Help Desk Support is provided to any district that subscribes to the Eastern Suffolk BOCES support service for their specific student management system. The Help Desk provides support to a total of 76 districts which includes 67 districts in Suffolk County as well as districts located in the northern region of New York State.
Integrated into each Help Desk are personnel who are trained and certified to support the district's Student Management System software application. The staff is on call to assist personnel with resolving potential issues and answer questions related to student management system data in all modules such as attendance, scheduling, parent-portal, grading, teacher gradebook and other modules generally used by district staff.
Our helpdesk staff will provide training, guidance and support to each district's designated system administrator with user account provisioning and system security setup within the software. The district will designate a point of contact who authorizes user access for the SMS and is responsible for managing user permissions and security groups, modifying faculty records, user password changes and resets. The helpdesk will provide best practices and training for the district point of contact on set-up of system security and user account maintenance.
Classroom training and user group events are offered as part of the support service at no additional cost. All district staff are invited to attend training classes in order to stay abreast of new developments with the software and requirements at both the state and local level.
The Help Desk is in operation from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Support may be accessed by telephone or by email and is individualized for each Student Management System. Eastern Suffolk BOCES Student Data Services provides support for eSchoolData, Infinite Campus, PowerSchool and SchoolTool student management systems. Pricing is based on student enrollment as reported to NYSED.
Related projects and data requests such as custom reports, report card template set up, report card/transcript production and in district support are also provided for an additional fee. In house hosting services are available for PowerSchool and SchoolTool.
